I don't know where I am. Is this a film set? Her living room? An office? She appears well put together, and I think I can trust her. Even that raise of the eyebrow and that subtle mocking tone of the last sentence can't undermine the fact that I feel safe here. She inspires confidence. Her comfort, dress and demeanor belie her words. I will follow her. Yet her brooch suggests the brooch worn by both Carlotta Valdez and Judy Barton (posing as Madeline Elster, the San Francisco shipping baron's wife) in Hitchcock's "Vertigo." Is this deliberate? Is this an imposter?
